Our SkillsFuture Credit-eligible WSQ Product Development course bridges the gap between creative design and commercial thinking. Over 16 hours across three days, learners will explore how ideas can be transformed into cohesive product concepts that resonate with modern consumers.

What You’ll Learn
During this course, learners will explore the key stages involved in developing products for modern consumers. Topics covered include:
Market Analysis - Understanding consumer trends and identifying relevant target audiences.
Brand Strategy - Defining product identity and positioning within the retail market.
Commercial Design and Costing - Understanding costing considerations, supplier sourcing and developing cohesive product concepts.
Content and Launch Strategy - Exploring how product presentation, photography and communication support product launches.
Performance Tracking - Learning how to evaluate product performance through customer feedback and sales indicators.
Learners who complete the course will also gain access to additional online learning resources and continued support.
What You’ll Create
As part of the practical exercises in this course, participants will develop and present a small collection of product concepts. These hands-on activities allow learners to apply product development principles such as design considerations, presentation and commercial positioning.
During the course, participants will create and bring home their very own floral capsule collection that includes a total of four products as part of the case study:
Bloom Jar
Bloom Carrier
Garden style gift bouquet
Luxury vase arrangement
These products will be used as examples to explore how retail products can be conceptualised, styled and prepared for presentation.

Course Fees


Example: If you are a Singapore Citizen aged 50, you may receive a 70% subsidy. The remaining $216 may be paid using SkillsFuture Credits if sufficient credits are available.
SkillsFuture Mid-Career Transition Credits cannot be used for this course
SSG funding for this course is available until 8 January 2028
All Singaporeans aged 25 and above can use their $500 SkillsFuture Credit from the government to pay for a wide range of approved skills-related courses. WSQ Certification
Upon successful completion of this course, you will receive a Statement of Attainment in Level 3 Product Development (Skills Code: RET-PMN-3003-1.1) under the Retail Sector Skills Framework.
To successfully complete the course, participants must achieve a "Competent" grade in the final assessment and maintain a minimum attendance of 75%. Please note that skillsfuture funding is only applicable for learners who meet these completion requirements.

Is this course eligible for SkillsFuture funding and subsidies?
Yes. This course is eligible for SkillsFuture funding (including subsidies of up to 70%, and usage of Skillsfuture Credits) for learners who meet the eligibility requirements.
Can I use the Mid-Career Transition credits for this course?
