If there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that when I fall for something, I fall hard. I have this tendency to get completely obsessed with whatever catches my fancy. Whether it’s food, a hobby, or a random fact, I dive in headfirst, and I don’t resurface until I’ve soaked up every bit of information I can find. And right now, I'm utterly obsessed with Dahlias and I've been using them for any and everything.
One of the things I love most about Dahlias is their incredible diversity. They’re like the chameleons of the flower world. Just when you think you’ve seen it all, you come across a new variety that takes your breath away. Some Dahlias have large, open faces that remind me of sunflowers—bold and bright, like a burst of sunshine. Others are more compact, with layers upon layers of petals that create a sense of depth and mystery, much like chrysanthemums. It’s almost as if each Dahlia has its own personality, waiting to be discovered.
But what really excites me is how the Dahlia scene in Singapore has improved over the years. (Thank you China flower farmers!!) Just last year, finding high-quality Dahlias here was like searching for a needle in a haystack. But now? The quality has improved so much, and it’s a joy to see these beautiful blooms becoming more accessible. The vibrant colors, the healthy stems, the lush petals—it’s like the flowers have undergone a transformation, and I’m here for it.
As we’re in the midst of Dahlia season, I can’t help but look forward to the months ahead. I’m hoping this season stretches all the way to Christmas, because there’s just something about Dahlias that makes the world a little brighter. Whether they’re gracing a dinner table, adding a pop of color to a living room, or simply bringing a smile to someone’s face, Dahlias have a way of making everything feel a bit more magical.
And so, my journey with Dahlias continues. I’m planning to fill my home with these stunning flowers, experiment with different arrangements, and maybe even try my hand at growing some myself. There’s something so satisfying about being surrounded by something you love, especially when that something is as beautiful as a Dahlia. Here’s to a season filled with these gorgeous blooms—and to the many hours I’ll undoubtedly spend obsessing over them! ❤️
